This report examines the evolving landscape of sexual attitudes and practices in Vietnam, highlighting the influence of economic, social, and cultural changes. As Vietnam undergoes rapid modernization, traditional views on sexuality are being challenged and redefined.
Introduction:
Vietnam, a Southeast Asian nation with deep-rooted cultural values, has witnessed significant transformations over the past few decades. The economic reforms initiated in the mid-1980s (Đổi Mới) have not only spurred economic growth but have also influenced social perceptions, including those related to sexuality. This study explores the changing dynamics surrounding sex in Vietnam, considering the role of globalization, media influence, and evolving cultural norms.
Methodology:
This report is based on a review of existing literature, surveys, interviews, and statistical data from various academic and governmental resources. Primary data was gathered through interviews with young adults across urban and rural areas to understand firsthand perspectives on sexuality. Secondary data was collected from journal articles, reports published by Vietnamese health organizations, and international studies on sexual health and behavior.
